sites visit

Phew... Finally finished my mid term test. Feel so relax now~ haha... ^^

Engineering Foundation Principles and Communications 100 is 1 of those 4 subjects i am taking this semester. This subject has no final exam, but it comes with those bloody assignments !!

Because of the subject, I have chance to pay a visit at New Lambir Palm Oil Mill and LAKU Water Treatment Plan. We are divided into groups and went to the sites according to the schedule planned.

1. New Lambir Palm Oil Mill

This mill located at the outskirts of miri town

there are oil palm estates around the mill

oil palm

the mill

worker is moving out the oil palm fruit

I don't like the nasty smell of oil palm inside the mill. It makes me feels like vomit.

Boilers which are used to boil the oil palm

2. LAKU Water Treatment Plan

LAKU provides the water we used for our daily routines. It located in the outskirts area of Miri too

chemicals used to treat the water

walking from 1 part to another part of the site

they take the water from river to process

Person in charge : We raised the fishes inside this tank to check whether the water is save for human daily usage or not.
Students : We didn't see any fished also (knocking the tank)
Person in charge : ( Pour in some fish food to the tank )
Students : Also no fishes come out to eat.
Person in charge : (Remain silence and bring us to visit other parts of the site)
This means what leh ? you know i know lo.... haha ^^

The processed water~ (they raised some fishes inside to earn extra income)

Stages of water process

Worker is removing the precipitate which flowing above water.

On the way back to the campus, everyone is tired. Even the lecturer too !! haha...

Site visits are fun. I gained many experiences and learn those real engineers applications through the visits. It will be the best if I am not required to submit sites visit reports after that. Will this come true ? haha...
